The 2nd Annual Fremont Elementary School Chess Championship was held at Irvington High School on Saturday, May 21. A total of 13 Weibel Team members and/or Weibel-attendee players played.
2nd grader Jaden Wei took 1st place in the U1000 division. Jaden is part of a very talented 2nd grade group at Weibel that will be very good for years to come. Two other Weibel students, 2nd grader Atri Surapaneni and 6th grader Rohan Koka, tied for 2nd in this section.
3rd grader Anthony Zhou, who will attend Weibel next year and be a huge part of Weibel's Nationals group, finished 2nd in the Open section.
